In search of spring water with a mysterious atmosphere: Dombenang-gil
Dombenang-gil, located on Olle Course 7, is located in Hogeun-dong, Seogwipo-si. Dombe means cutting board in the Jeju language, and in the past, it was called ‘Dombenangol’ because there were many domestic pear trees with leaves as broad as cutting boards. Nang refers to trees or rocks that form a cliff. Nowadays, the many dombenangs have disappeared, but instead, lush evergreen forests along the coast and clear spring water gushing out here and there create a mysterious atmosphere.
As you walk along the winding trail through the dense subtropical forest designated as a natural monument, you will come across a seaside post office. The one next to Oedolgae Solbit Sea Cafe was moved here. How about stopping for a moment and writing a postcard? Although we are unfamiliar with handwritten letters, the memories of your trip will deepen as you express your feelings to someone while looking at the sea.
A place where history and legend live: Samyang-dong Prehistoric Site
The Samyang-dong prehistoric site is the ruins of a large village centered on the 1st century BC, and was discovered in 1996. At the time, the Jeju National Museum was conducting surface surveys and discovered a large amount of pottery, stone tools, and pottery tombs. As a result of six excavations since 1997, about 3,000 artifacts were excavated, including 236 houses, pillar-pillar buildings, ditch remains, red stone remains, outdoor fire pits, and pillar holes.
Circular huts, rectangular huts, ground ovens, cornerstones, grinding stones, stone arrowheads, fishing nets, etc. were discovered here, which is of great help in understanding the culture of the formative period of Tamna State. In the exhibition hall, you can see these excavated artifacts and restored dwellings, and there are also interesting video materials and experience programs. There is Wondangbong right next to it, and according to the legend, it is the place where the Three Gods welcomed the three princesses from Byeokrangguk.
Jeju’s special trail: Bijarim Forest
Bija Forest is a forest located in Pyeongdae-ri, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si. About 2,800 Bija trees, born between 500 and 800 years old, grow in an area of 448,165 m2. The height of the tree is 7 to 14 m, the diameter is 50 to 110 cm, and the crown width is 10 to 15 m. This place has long been built and managed to collect bija, the fruit of the nutmeg tree, and to use wood, and currently has beautiful scenery and functions as a forest bathing area.
The name Bijarim comes from the name of the tree ‘Bija’, written in Chinese characters as Bija (榧子). Rare orchids such as wild orchids, wild orchids, soybean orchids, black orchids, and bija orchids also grow naturally, and in addition to these, there are also peach trees, silkworm trees, awae trees, silkworm trees, and silverback trees. There are two exploration courses, A and B, which are 1.2km and 1.8km respectively and take about 20 to 30 minutes and 40 to 50 minutes. A walk in Bijarim Forest, which preserves its pristine nature, is a great place to heal your body and mind.
An art museum created by nature: Suwolbong Peak
Suwolbong is a small hill located on the western edge of Jeju Island, and is loved by many tourists due to its unique topography and geology. Although it is not very high at 77m above sea level, it is so important that it is called a ‘textbook of volcanology’ due to the various sedimentary structures left in the volcanic ash stratum exposed along the coastal cliffs.
In particular, in the volcaniclastic rock layer exposed along the western coast of Suwolbong, it is common to see structures such as plate-shaped stratification made by layering volcanic ash and carbon shells that fell due to the impact of volcanic rock masses. These structures are of great help in understanding the volcanic activity of Suwolbong Peak as well as the eruption and deposition processes of tuff rings around the world.
From the observatory at the top of Suwolbong Peak, you can see the surrounding islands, including Chagwido and Wado, at a glance, and it is also known as a sunset spot. Additionally, a sunrise event is held here every January 1st, and many people gather to watch the rising sunrise and make wishes for the new year!
Jeju’s hidden beach, Hwangwooji Coast
Hwangwooji Beach is one of the most popular beaches on Jeju Island, located near Oedolgae. It is a famous place where you can enjoy snorkeling and swimming with beautiful natural scenery.
Hwangwooji Coast is surrounded by black basalt and is famous for the clear sea water below the rocks, making it ideal for snorkeling. The water is not deep, so even beginners can easily enjoy snorkeling, and if you are lucky, you may even encounter sea turtles or schools of fish!
Hwangwooji Beach is a place that is not widely known to the public, so you can enjoy water play in a relatively quiet and peaceful atmosphere. It is very convenient to use as it is well equipped with convenient facilities such as parking and restrooms.

Inside the village, there are traditional restaurants and cafes where you can taste Jeju Island's traditional food and tea, and various experience programs such as craft making and dyeing are also operated. In addition, many historical relics remain, such as Yeonjabanga, Jeongeuihyanggyo, and Ilgwanheon, making it a place worth visiting from an educational perspective.
A starry night that brightens up Jeju’s night: Gwangchigi Beach

Gwangchigi Beach is a relatively recently known attraction, and there are not many people yet, so you can enjoy the stars in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. You can also spend some healing time taking a walk along the beach!!
